Under the premise that better health information means better decision making and therefore better health for all, and in order to increase the availability and use of information in developing countries and globally, in 2005 the Health Metrics Network (HMN) was launched.The HMN is a global alliance of countries, bilateral and multilateral cooperation agencies, foundations, and technical experts working to improve health by strengthening and harmonizing the investments in the development of health information systems.
