Abstract:

Looking to adapt the professional education and training to address the priority health problems in accordance with sector policies and plans, in 2005 the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Regional Government, and the Universities approved the Cooperation Agreement for Teaching Assistance. However, the offer made by the institutions of higher education to provide courses or certificate programs in policy design has yet to be implemented and harmonized with the new regional development plans. The same is the case with the comprehensive training processes aimed at creating multidisciplinary teams that share common development goals in the area.As a result, the capacities of regional and local stakeholders in the area of public policy management are still limited. The National University of Central Peru (UNCP, as abbreviated in Peru), under the agreement it signed with the MOH and with the difficulties posed by decentralization, has the great challenge of coordinating with regional and local entities to optimize the education and the production of knowledge and to disseminate the rules and values that contribute to the formation of different social stakeholders, as well as the wellbeing of the population.
