The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria is a major funder of HIV programs around the world, including those that support orphans and vulnerable children (OVC). To date, the Global Fund has provided more than 4 million basic care and support services to OVC. It is crucial that OVC continue to be prioritized and served by Global Fund-supported country programs. This desk review assessed the inclusion of OVC-related content in Global Fund HIV/AIDS grants in Rounds 1-7. The review considered 261 HIV/AIDS grants from 122 countries. While this report is one of the first to comprehensively address OVC in Global Fund grants, it is not an evaluation. Rather, it stands as an introductory analysis that aims to generate discussion on how to improve benefits to OVC from the Global Fund.
