Where We Work

Madagascar

The USAID | Health Policy Initiative completed its work in Madagascar on September 29, 2010.

Task Order 1 of the USAID | Health Policy Initiative in Madagascar enhanced the enabling policy environment for health by providing policymakers and program managers with data to plan, produce, and implement advocacy messages related to family planning and reproductive health.

The project focused its efforts on policymakers who have had minimal engagement with the national family planning program.  To reach these policymakers, the project conducted an in-depth analysis of Madagascar's family planning program, as well as barriers to achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the government's commitments.  Findings from the analysis will be used to shape future advocacy messages related to family planning and reproductive health.
